IBE english language instructor gives a tutorial on the use of the words YET and STILL. Yet se usa con el Present Perfect, mientras que still se usa con el Present Perfect o con el Present (Simple o Continuous), dependiendo de su significado. Still se usa con el Present para decir que una acción o situación sigue ocurriendo. Para decir lo mismo en español, usamos la frase «seguir haciendo algo» o bien usamos «todavía». Ejemplos: I am still studying at school. = Sigo estudiando en el Instituto. Todavía estoy estudiando en el Instituto. She is still in love with Juan. = Sigue enamorada de Juan. Todavía está enamorada de Juan. STILL se usa también para decir que algo todavía no ha ocurrido y por eso tiene el mismo significado que YET. Pero se colocan en distintos sitios dentro de la oración. En español se dice de la misma forma: Todavía no he visitado Londres / No he visitado Londres todavía. STILL se coloca delante del auxiliar: I still haven't visited London. well,friend asked me this 2 days ago and this is what i answer her..
I hav this opinion, my dad is pediatrician, my mom dentist , Im dentist too..why is this important, this is the fact..we are mexican, my parents have a good life in mexico, we are not rich , but we have good education, good vacation, etc. we used to go to USA as tourist , and american ( white americans) were always ( or most ) wonderful and nice people..BUT mexican -americans! used to be mean!!! our own people!!!! always with phrases like, I dont speak spanish.. ( even when we heard the speaking it XD) , stupid things like that, my father always told me..it is because the have envy, they have to immigrate to USA because in Mexico they were starving , they have bad memories about mexico, then go to USE, try to change what they are, try to forget where they have come from..the have their heart filled of resentment..( NOT ALL the latins) some are sooo nice!! it is wonderful look for better opportunities..I admire these people..but not the other kind of latins those discriminate their own blood..we always make fun of them , cause they are so ridiculous , they dont even speak well the spanish and try to speak even worse the english, have bad manners, and thanks to them, americans think mexicans are all lazy
please, please!!!! if you are latin american in USA, dont pochees ( it means) dont mix both languages!!!
